Inter Milan are exploring their options in goal ahead of the summer window, with Real Madrid’s Andriy Lunin emerging as an alternative to primary target Guglielmo Vicario as the Nerazzurri search for Yann Sommer’s long-term successor.
Sommer will leave when his contract expires, while Josep Martinez’s future also remains uncertain. Vicario remains Inter’s preferred option but his price tag is considered steep.
Cagliari’s Elia Caprile is another name under consideration. Lunin, born in 1999 and currently understudy to Thibaut Courtois at the Bernabeu, represents a potentially more affordable route.
Inter held serious interest in the Ukrainian goalkeeper several years ago and that admiration has not faded, as per FCInterNews.

A period of upheaval at Real Madrid, underlined by a heavy home defeat to Getafe, could create the conditions for a departure, though Lunin’s agent Jorge Mendes is known to drive hard bargains in any negotiation.
A fascinating subplot has also emerged.
Last January, Genoa came close to signing Al Nassr goalkeeper Bento Krepski on loan with an option to buy for €8.5 million.
Only for a red card to the Saudi club’s first choice to force them to retain the Brazilian.
Inter had a pre-agreement with Genoa to sign Bento for €12 million had he impressed in Europe.
Indeed, a deal that would have given the Nerazzurri their goalkeeper of the present and future in one clean move.
The sliding door moment altered plans for both clubs.
Inter have not forgotten him, and a renewed pursuit cannot be ruled out.
The goalkeeping decision is one Inter cannot afford to get wrong, and deliberations will continue in the weeks ahead.
