Inter Milan President Marotta Declares ‘My Connection With Oaktree Has Grown’ After Acquiring 2% Nerazzurri Shares | OneFootball

Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta says that his “connection with Oaktree has grown” after he became a Nerazzurri shareholder.

The Nerazzurri President spoke to Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, after the announcement yesterday that he has acquired a 2% stake in the club.

Yesterday, Inter Milan announced that Beppe Marotta has become a shareholder in Inter.

The 68-year-old has been an integral part of Inter since 2018, when he became the club’s CEO of Sport.

Then last May, Oaktree Capital named Marotta as the new club President. This shortly after they took over as owners from Suning.

Inter President Marotta reflected on his place at Inter after becoming a club shareholder.

“My connection with Oaktree has grown over the course of the season,” he declared. “Thanks to our mutual understanding.”

“I’m delighted that they’ve offered me the opportunity to invest in Inter along with them,” the President continued.

“It’s further proof of how much both myself and they believe in a sustainable and long-lasting path of development for the Nerazzurri.”

Marotta admitted that his investment in Inter “entails certain risks.”

“But I have total faith in the women and men who work at Inter,” he went on.

“Together we can achieve great things.”

Marotta made clear that “I believe it so much that I’ve invested some of my personal finances into this venture.”
