Inter Milan have had a fairly busy summer. Most notably, the Nerazzurri changed coaches, with Cristian Chivu replacing Simone Inzaghi at the helm.

However, that’s not all that Inter have done.

Four new signings have arrived – Petar Sucic, Luis Henrique, Ange-Yoan Bonny, and Andy Diouf, Notably, all four are between the ages of 21 and 23.

Furthermore, and just as significantly, Inter have also made striker Francesco Pio Esposito a part of their first team plans after two seasons on loan with Spezia.

Pio Esposito only just twenty over the summer.

Inter President Beppe Marotta commented that “we didn’t want to revolutionize” the team.

“We wanted to change the model. We’ve added five players, four that we signed and then one from our youth academy.”

Marotta noted that “the average age has fallen from 29.”

“That’s the path that we’ve taken with this new model.”

Meanwhile, Marotta claimed that “we don’t expect any more major signings.”

“If anyone leaves we’ll replace them.”

Then, Marotta gave background on Inter’s failed pursuit of Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.

“We believe in the need to seize the opportunities that the transfer market offers,” he said.

“There was an opportunity to sign a player who would have fit with what the coach needs. However, Atalanta decided not to put him on the market, and the deal fell through.”

“Then we continued our search for young polayers who could adapt to our model,” said Marotta.
