Nico Paz’s future has become quite the saga this summer, but not for the reasons initially expected by the Real Madrid faithful.
As a former academy graduate of Los Blancos, Paz enjoyed exceeding success during his time at Como. Aware of the development, Real Madrid were said even to have an agreement in place to bring him home.
Jose Mourinho’s appointment and the manager’s clear demand to sign new midfielders, however, changed everything as Paz refused to return for a bench role and pressed to stay at Como for longer.
Given the club’s need for sales and the opportunity to sign Paz for a steal deal, however, Real Madrid have shifted their focus to a new operation.
The idea now is to sign Paz back for the €10 million clause and sell him again for a fee above €50 million.

As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio in a recent report, defending Serie A champions Inter Milan have emerged as strong candidates to sign Paz should Real Madrid pull off such an operation.
The Italian side are willing to do ‘anything’ to land the Argentine star’s services this summer and see him as a high-quality player who can start in their title-defence dynamics.
Inter Milan, thus, are just waiting for Real Madrid to officially activate their buyback clause before they can step into the action. Once the clause is triggered, they will go on the offensive, pushing to sign the player at any cost.
Having seen the player first-hand in the Serie A, Inter Milan are aware of Paz’s brilliance and their desperation to sign him as a testament to the player’s quality.

As reported earlier this week, however, there could be a problematic clause involved in Paz’s contractual terms, which may hinder Real Madrid’s plan.
Indeed, there is a discussion of a clause in the player’s terms which stipulates a 12-week gap between the player’s return to Real Madrid and a possible departure from the club.
Given the timelines of the summer transfer window, it would be impossible for Los Blancos to purchase the player back and then send him to Inter Milan in the same window, and the second operation may well have to be delayed until January.
Needless to say, the aforementioned clause will ultimately decide if the move goes through or not.
