Como’s remarkable start to the 2025/26 Serie A season owes a lot to the special performances by former Real Madrid prodigy Nico Paz.

The Italian side has scored nine goals in seven matches, four of them by the Argentine, who has also provided four assists.

Given his exemplary displays, Real Madrid are already planning to re-sign their former academy gem next year by utilising a buyback clause they inserted while selling him to Como.

Inter Milan trying to meddle

There is, however, one condition that could prevent Nico from returning to Real Madrid: an extraordinary offer from a third club.

And, according to TyC Sports (h/t AS), Serie A giants Inter Milan are very interested in signing Nico Paz from Como and could meddle with Real Madrid’s plans for the youngster.

The Nerazzurri plan on presenting a base offer would amount to €58 million to Real Madrid, which would block the Spanish club from activating their clause to bring Nico back to the Santiago Bernabeu.

It is no secret that the Nerazzurri have been interested in the player for some time, especially considering that about a year ago, their vice-president, Javier Zanetti, was seen dining with Nico’s father, Pablo Paz, with whom he once shared time in the Argentine national team.

Relations between both clubs remain excellent and, pending further developments, Inter are said to have already begun discussions with the young playmaker’s camp in an attempt to minimise competition.

Nico, though, has always maintained that he dreams of a return to Real Madrid. So, it remains to be seen how the situation evolves and whether Los Blancos press ahead with the 21-year-old’s return or decide to cash in.
