Inter Milan are preparing for life after Francesco Acerbi, who is expected to leave the club at the end of the season, but the Nerazzurri have ruled out any chance of signing Dayot Upamecano from Bayern Munich as his replacement.

The veteran defender will depart after three seasons at San Siro, prompting the Inter hierarchy to seek an experienced, reliable option to anchor Cristian Chivu’s back line.

However, despite speculation linking Upamecano to Italy, journalist Matteo Moretto dismissed the idea entirely, via L’Interista.

Moretto described the deal as ‘not feasible’ for Inter, with Real Madrid and the Premier League showing interest.

Bayern are also in talks to renew the Frenchman’s contract.

Inter’s stance remains clear.

The next central defender must combine durability with Champions League experience, but within realistic financial parameters.

Upamecano, whose contract with Bayern runs until 2026, earns a salary far beyond Inter’s current defensive wage structure.

Instead, the Nerazzurri are expected to focus on more attainable profiles already monitored in recent months.

This includes Marc Guéhi, Oumar Solet, and Mario Gila, as they look to refresh the defensive core without compromising stability.
