Inter Milan signed defender Tomas Palacios last summer.

The young Argentine was a player the Nerazzurri backed as a prospect for the future, rather than a player to bolster the defense for the present.

Therefore, Palacios barely fetured for Inter last season. The 23-year-old made a couple cameo appearances off of the bench, but that was it.

Over the second half of the season, Palacios was at Monza on loan. He found more playing time there – eight appearances, totalling 440 minutes in Serie A.

However, the Argentine still was not exactly a regular starter for the Brianzoli.

In any event, Tomas Palacios is now back at Inter with his time at Monza having come to an end.

The Nerazzurri will certainly have a decision to make regarding the Argentina Under-21 international’s future.

Inter invested more than €10 million to sign Palacios last summer. That was a signal of their intentions to put a fair bit of faith in the young defender.

However, it seems unlikely that Palacios will have a place in the Inter senior squad next season.

Nevertheless, for the time being, the Argentine will be part of Inter’s squad for the Club World Cup this month, according to Tuttosport.
