Argentina international forward Joaquin Correa will not be part of Inter Milan’s Champions League squad.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. They report that Marko Arnautovic, by contrast, will be a part of the European squad assuming he stays.

There is now just a little more than a week and a half to go in the summer transfer window.

And there is still some uncertainty about exactly what Inter’s attack will look like when the window closes.

Of course, Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, and Mehdi Taremi will be in the team, barring any truly sensational surprises.

Then, there is Martin Satriano. Inter are looking to sell the Uruguayan once and for all, and look to be closing in on a deal with Lens.

But the two players whose futures look up in the air right now are Correa and Arnautovic.

In the case of Correa, Inter have been hoping to offload the Argentine all summer.

However, as of yet, the Nerazzurri have not managed to do so.

It looks doubtful that Inter will be able to find a club willing to pay a fee for Correa, particularly considering the fact that his contract expires at the end of next June.

However, the Nerazzurri could look to at least get the final season of Correa’s wages off their books.

According to Tuttosport, the likeliest destination for Correa at this stage would be Genoa. The Grifone are looking to replace Albert Gudmundsson and could hand the 30-year-old a lifeline.

On the other hand, Correa could even stay at Inter.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi wouldn’t necessarily mind the additional depth that Correa would provide in attack areas if he sees out his contract.

But even if Correa stays, he will not be part of Inter’s Champions League squad list, reports Tuttosport.

Arnautovic, by contrast, will be in the squad.

The Austrian does have some transfer interest. Red Star Belgrade want to sign him, although wages would be an obstacle.

Inter would not necessarily stand in the way of Arnautovic leaving. But presuming that he stays this summer, he will be part of the squad list for the group stage of the Champions League.
