Inter prioritising Khalaili but unwilling to give up on Jones deal with Liverpool | OneFootball

Tuesday’s reports indicate that Inter are prioritising the signing of right-winger Anan Khalaili from Union Saint-Gilloise, but that the Nerazzurri are unwilling to give up on their pursuit of Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones.

Inter still keen on Jones deal, but only after Khalaili

It has been a frustrating start to the transfer window for Inter, who missed out on the signing of Marco Palestra to Chelsea and of Nico Paz to Como. With Denzel Dumfries having left to join Real Madrid, the club are in need of a new right wing-back and Union SG’s Khalaili appears to be the new priority target.

Khalaili had originally been linked with a move to join Napoli this summer, and there have been recent reports that Como could attempt to lure the Israel international to the Stadio Sinigaglia instead, but that Inter have an agreement on personal terms in place with the player and that they are hoping to secure an agreement with Union SG in the near future.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Khalaili is prepared to sign a five-year contract with base wages of around €1.7m per season to join the Nerazzurri this summer.

Inter, meanwhile, are ‘keen to avoid exceeding the €25m mark’ according to the Pink Paper. It is understood that Union SG’s valuation is at around €30m.

La Gazzetta dello Sport also reports that Inter are still keen to tie up a deal with Liverpool for midfielder Jones. The Liverpool academy product is into the final year of his contract at Anfield, but his current employers still reportedly value him in the region of €35m-€40m.

The Nerazzurri had seen an opening proposal in the region of €20m turned down. La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that once a deal for Khalaili is wrapped up, that Inter are prepared to come back in with a new offer of around €25m-€30m for Jones.

Tuesday’s report claims that the player is keen on the idea of a move to San Siro and that his desire to join Inter will be a key factor in negotiations with Liverpool.
