Inter provide helping hand to Alessandro Bastoni amidst prostitution scandal | OneFootball

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni in under investigation by the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Milan as part of its on going investigation of escort agency based in Cinisello Balsamo over operating a minor prostitution ring. Despite that, the Nerazzurri have offered support to the player.

The allegations date back to June 2020, linking Bastoni to an encounter with a 17-year-old, though the woman, as a witness, has denied there had been relations.

Bastoni is currently under investigation, but no charges have been brought forth yet. He was on holiday with family in Puglia when he was served with the avviso di garanzia. Fellow footballers Daniel Maldini, Riccardo Calafiori, and Kevin Bonifazi have also been contacted to serve as witnesses.

The investigation arrives amid interest in Bastoni from Spain over a move. For months Barcelona had been eyeing him as a potential candidate, but Inter have maintained that they have no interest in selling him. Real Madrid have emerged as the latest suitors from LaLiga, but Inter’s stance haven’t changed.

The club have even privately contacted the player to assume him of their support, though circumstances on that front may change based on what the investigation reveals.
