The match between Inter and Roma is at risk of being postponed.
Following the death of Pope Francis yesterday morning, the football world observed a pause: the four Serie A matches initially scheduled on Easter Monday have been postponed to tomorrow, with kick-off set for 6:30 pm. According to Sportmediaset, the funeral of the Holy Father could be held between Friday, April 25 and Sunday, April 27. In this case, there is a real possibility that even the competitions scheduled for those days will be postponed.
Among the matches involved may be Inter-Roma, currently scheduled for Saturday, April 26 at 6:00 p.m. A possible postponement of the game would lead to organisational difficulties, especially for Inter, engaged on three fronts between Serie A, the Champions League and the Coppa Italia.
The possible recovery of the match would not be possible before Wednesday, May 21, being placed between the last two days of Serie A. In the coming weeks, in fact, Inter will face Barcelona in the Champions League semifinals. In addition, the Nerazzurri may have to play the Coppa Italia final on May 14, if they beat Milan in the return derby scheduled for tomorrow night.
Also for Roma, a postponment would represent a difficult commitment: the recovery of the match with Inter would take place between the home match against Milan and the away game of Torino.
