INTER V AC MILAN: MATCH PREVIEW

AC Milan are preparing to face Inter in the Coppa Italia 2024/25 semi-final second leg. The match will be played this evening at 21:00 CEST at San Siro. Sérgio Conceição's side will look to defeat Simone Inzaghi's Nerazzurri following the 1-1 draw in the first leg. This Derby is a crucial opportunity for both teams. LATEST FROM MILANELLO AC Milan head into the clash following a narrow loss in Serie A in their last game against Atalanta. The Coppa Italia is a different story: the 1-1 draw in the first leg means that there is hope for a spot in the final. Some good news for Conceição as Kyle Walker and Ruben Loftus-Cheek rejoined the group, while Emerson Royal is still out. There are no suspensions and Terracciano is the only player at risk of suspension. It's essential that the Diavolo take this opportunity presented to them, to reach an important Final and qualify for Europe.

Conceição spoke on the eve of the match: "We want to reach the Final and win a trophy for our fans. All of the big clubs aim to progress deep in every competition and Inter are showing that they're a great side, they're used to doing well in every competition: they have a big squad, they can change things and their quality is always there. I expect my side to be very competitive and confident, against a top team".

LATEST FROM INTER Inter come into the clash following a bit of a turbulent period. In Serie A, the Nerazzurri lost last minute against Bologna, but drew against Bayern München in the Champions League, advancing to the semi-final. In the Coppa Italia, the 1-1 draw against AC Milan ensured that the Nerazzurri's hopes are still alive in all three competitions they're in. Inzaghi's side are ready to give their all to advance, even without Zieliński, Dumfries, Thuram, who returned to training but are not yet available.

AC Milan and Inter will face off for the 29th time in the Coppa Italia: the Rossoneri have ten wins compared to the Nerazzurri's nine, with nine draws between them. This is the third time that the two sides have met in the semi-final of the competition, after 1985 (AC Milan qualified for the final) and 2022 (Inter qualified).
After the two draws in the last two games in all competitions (1-1 in Serie A on 2 February and Coppa Italia on 2 April), Inter and AC Milan could draw three games in a row for the first time since the period between October 1967 and June 1968,
Tammy Abraham has scored in two of the last three games against Inter in all competitions, including the first leg of the semi-final. The last player to have scored in two consecutive matches in the Coppa Italia against the Nerazzurri was Andriy Shevchenko in the 1999/2000 season.
