An Internacional supporter has filed a police report accusing Grêmio women’s football executive Bárbara Fonseca of racial abuse after the Gre-Nal derby, won 2-1 by Grêmio on Saturday in the Brasileiro Feminino.

The complaint says the incident happened as Fonseca and the players left the pitch at Sesc Campestre, alleging she shouted profane racist slurs from close range. Grêmio said in a statement that members of their travelling party were abused by rival supporters.

The document alleges the exchange followed a dispute between Fonseca and a staff member in the area. From the nearby stand, the fan says he urged her to celebrate the win and leave the man alone, after which the alleged insult was directed at him.

The supporter attended a police station on Saturday night to file the report and give a statement, with witnesses from both sides also heard. Fonseca later gave her version accompanied by Grêmio’s legal team and denied the accusations.

Police requested CCTV footage from Sesc, the venue, and from Internacional as the home club. The supporter is a director of the Camisa 12 organised supporters’ group, which posted about the case on social media.
