International break hits Castellón, Cipenga to miss Cultural Leonesa | OneFootball

CD Castellón have been dealt a blow by the international break, with Brian Cipenga unavailable for Monday’s meeting with Cultural Leonesa at 20.30.

According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the club asked the Republic of the Congo federation to allow him to play then travel, but all selected players will instead leave on Monday. It is a significant loss for Pablo Hernández.

Because of Congo’s two fixtures in their bid to reach the 2026 World Cup, Cipenga will also miss Saturday 28 March at the Carlos Belmonte at 21.00, where a large Castellón following is expected.

He will then be absent against Almería on Thursday 2 April at SkyFi Castalia at 20.00 in a meeting with a direct promotion rival.

His return could come against Granada, also at home.

Cipenga is a key figure for Castellón, offering threat on both flanks and creating through ball-carrying and dribbling.
