A swathe of Manchester City stars were in action for their national teams as October’s international break came to an end on Tuesday.
Starting with England’s meeting with Australia, Alex Greenwood played the final half an hour and Laura Blindkilde Brown and Khiara Keating were unused substitutes at Pride Park as the Lionesses recorded a 3-0 win.
The Lionesses took the lead through Aggie Beever-Jones shortly after former City defender Alanna Kennedy was sent off for the Matildas.
Lucy Bronze then doubled Sarina Wiegman’s side’s lead before the interval before Georgia Stanway's penalty rounded off the scoring.

In the evening’s first match, Ayaka Yamashita, Yui Hasegawa and Aoba Fujino all started for Japan as they fell to a 2-0 defeat to Norway.
Risa Shmizu, who’s currently on loan at Liverpool, also played 82 minutes.
The European nation took the lead on 28 minutes when Signe Gaupset opened the scoring in the international friendly before they doubled their advantage shortly after the break with forward bagging her brace.
Meanwhile, Laura Wienroither’s Austria secured a 2-0 win over Czech Republic with the City defender an unused substitute in a Nations League play-off.
