Simone Inzaghi admits that he isn’t sure whether he’ll be Inter Milan coach for the FIFA Club World Cup after today’s loss to PSG.
The Nerazzurri coach spoke in a press conference after today’s humbling 5-0 defeat, as reported by FCInterNews.
Inter Milan have fallen to an absolutely crushing defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
The Nerazzurri lost by the widest margin of any team in the history of the European Cup final.
It was a match that completely soured the momentum that Inter had built up in the Champions League. They had enjoyed memorable European nights against teams like Arsenal, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona – but these came to a screeching halt.
Meanwhile, this final came against a backdrop of some persistent speculation about the future of Inzaghi as Inter coach.

After the match, Simone Inzaghi said that “there’s too much disappointment to talk about the future right now.”
“We’ve given our all in 58 matches,” the Inter coach continued. “We’ve gotten here from July 13th.”
“So talking about the future now doesn’t seem right to me.”
Then, the coach said that “we’re starting again from a strong club that’s already made two signings for next season.”
“They know they’ll have to make more,” Inzaghi continued. “But they’ve always been with us.”
“They’ve always been behind us for better or worse. They told me how proud they are of these 59 matches.”
“We had a lot of fans come here hoping to crown the journey we’ve had, but as with two years ago we didn’t make it in the most important match.”
“We’ll think about it calmly and start again with conviction,” Inzaghi added.
“We’ve been through this before. Because finals leave their mark on you, and we’ll have to start again stronger.”
Meanwhile, Inzaghi was asked whether he expects to still be Inter coach at the Club World Cup next month.
“I don’t know how to answer that last question now,” he admitted.
“I came out here to speak out politeness and respect. Because this is a loss that makes me sad.”
“You come out of defeats stronger,” Inzaghi then said. “It seems like a cliche, but we’ve been through it before and then we won the league.”
“There’s bitterness. But we have to keep our heads up, knowing that we were up against a team that deserved to win.”
