According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter and their head coach have agreed terms for a new contract extension with a slight wage increase, which will maintain Inzaghi’s status as the best-paid coach in the division.

Inzaghi is currently under contract until the summer of 2026, but Nerazzurri directors are reportedly keen to avoid a situation where they enter a new season with the head coach entering the final year of his contract.

Typically, Inzaghi has signed a series of one-year contract extensions in the past to avoid this happening, but this new deal is expected to add a further two years to the coach’s deal this time around, running until the summer of 2028.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Inzaghi’s wage packet will increase from around €6.5m per season to around €7m per season once the deal is signed.

The coach has been with the club since the summer of 2021, when he switched to San Siro from Lazio. Since then, he has won the 2023-24 Scudetto, two Coppa Italia trophies, three consecutive Supercoppa Italiana wins and one appearance in the Champions League final against Manchester City in 2023.

He is currently the second-longest serving head coach in Serie A, second only behind Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini.
