According to a report from Foot Mercato, Ipswich Town are considering a move for Olympique Lyonnais midfielder Nemanja Matić (35).
Ipswich are in their first season back in the Premier League after a 22-year absence and currently sit within the relegation zone in 18th place albeit they share the same amount of points with Wolverhampton Wanderers who are above them on goal difference.
The French outlet writes that the Serbian international’s qualities as well as his previous experience in the Premier League with Chelsea and Manchester United are particularly valued by the East Anglian club as they look to the second half of the season.
It’s no secret that Lyon are looking to sell this winter with most players on the market if the right price can be reached. However, Ipswich are far from the only team looking at Matić and could face competition from Serie A side Como 1907 who are managed by Cesc Fàbregas.
