The Tractor Boys could be about to land Leicester's most wanted player this summer
Leicester City's big overhaul ahead of the 2026-27 League One season is yet to really get going, with player sales seemingly needed to balance the books following their second relegation in succession.
The Foxes had a surprisingly shocking 2025-26 Championship season, and after their Premier League struggles a year prior, they dropped into the third tier of English football - just 10 years after winning the top flight against all the odds.
City's finances are set to take a big hit by being in League One, and many high earners departed at the end of the season on free transfers when their contracts came to an end - namely the likes of Jordan Ayew and Ricardo Pereira among others.
More exits have followed, with Jannik Vestergaard's contract terminated, Harry Winks joining Cagliari, and talented teenager Jeremy Monga has been cashed in on with a move to Man City.
Even though the incomings have begun with experienced goalkeeper Alex McCarthy and ex-Ipswich Town attacker Conor Chaplin both arriving at the King Power Stadium on free transfers, more exits are set to occur, and one of those is more-than likely going to be Abdul Fatawu.

Fatawu missed much of Leicester's 2024-25 Premier League relegation season with a knee injury, but the Ghana international's nine goals and eight Championship assists weren't enough to keep City away from the second tier drop zone.
The 22-year-old remains the club's most saleable asset, and as per The Telegraph's Mike McGrath, Premier League newcomers Ipswich Town - who were promoted back there at the first time of asking and are now under the management of Gary O'Neil - are said to be making their move for Fatawu.
A deal isn't done for Fatawu by any stretch of the imagination, but the Tractor Boys have 'made an approach' for his services, with the two clubs set to negotiate a fee in due course.
West Ham have also been linked to Fatawu's signature in recent weeks, as they look to build a squad capable of doing what Ipswich did and winning promotion from the Championship a year after relegation, but they may be gazumped by Ipswich and their Premier League interest.
There's an expectation among Leicester fans that Fatawu will not be donning their colours for the start of the League One season, albeit he remains at the club for now after being at the FIFA World Cup with Ghana.
And Football League World's Foxes fan pundit, Jamie Preston, thinks that if Fatawu were to end up at Portman Road, it would be a bit of a bizarre one all-round, believing the Ghanaian is more-than capable of featuring for a more established top flight club.
"We all know Fatawu is going to go, but I think Ipswich is a bit of a strange decision," Jamie told FLW.
"It's a bit of a sideways move because I think they're going to be more of a yo-yo club, going up and down between the Premier League and Championship in the next few years.
"I would've thought it would be a Brentford, a Brighton or even a Fulham, having the London lifestyle... I think he likes that kind of lifestyle.
"As long as he goes for £20 million to £25 million, I'd be quite happy, but going to Ipswich is a very strange move, a little bit of a sideways one in my mind, but we need the money, he'll be off the books - that's great."
