Taremi made his first ever start in Serie A yesterday evening.

It proved to be an effective outing for the 32-year-old. He may not have gotten himself on the scoresheet, but his fingerprints were on the 2-0 Inter victory.

It was Taremi who flicked the ball on for Matteo Darmian to score the Nerazzurri’s opener.

And all throughout the match, the former Porto striker gave Inter a presence in attack.

Taremi showed exactly why Inter signed him. Even with captain Lautaro Martinez out with an injury, the Nerazzurri had a real reference point in attack.

Mehdi Taremi: “Inter Milan A Dream Come True, San Siro Atmosphere Is Incredible”

Speaking after his first Serie A match at home as an Inter player, Taremi declared that “The San Siro is a stadium that’s historic, and known all around the world.”

“Inter have great strikers,” the Iranian further continued.

“From Lautaro to Thuram, and then Correa and Arnautovic.”

“I’m happy to be a part of this team of great stars, who give me a lot of confidence,” Taremi said. “I’m happy to play with these players.”

Of making the move to Inter from Porto, Taremi said that “Porto allowed me to make myself known in Europe.”

“Inter is a top-level club,” the Iranian international further continued.

“The atmosphere here is incredible. Playing at the San Siro as an Inter player is a dream come true.”

Meanwhile, Taremi also gave his thoughts on his former Porto teammate Francisco Conceicao’s reported move to Juventus.

“I’m happy for him,” he said of the Portuguese international. “He’s a great guy who works hard.”
