Arsenal are in a desperate battle to save their Premier League title challenge after a nine-point lead was reduced to a second place on goals scored and Mikel Arteta’s former title-winners-in-waiting now look in danger of collapsing yet again.

The Gunners slumped to a 2-1 defeat to perma-rivals Manchester City in an entertaining top-of-the-table battle last time out, with momentum firmly with Pep Guardiola’s side.

But Arteta’s men can wrestle it back as they face 14th-placed Newcastle, who are mired in a slump of their own, on Saturday.

The Magpies have lost eight top-flight games in 11 and their last four in succession, and pressure is mounting on boss Eddie Howe after an alarming 2-1 late defeat to Bournemouth in their most recent outing.

A result this weekend feels critical to both sides - and could have an outsized impact on the title race.

When is Arsenal v Newcastle?

Arsenal host Newcastle at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday 25 April, with kick-off at 5.30pm BST.

How can I watch it?

Viewers in the UK can watch the game on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League. If you’re not a Sky customer, you can grab a NOWTV Day Pass here to watch without a subscription.

Team news

Arsenal will welcome back Bukayo Saka and Riccardo Calafiori from injury but Jurrien Timber is likely to miss out.

Newcastle are expected to be without Tino Livramento, who came off with a groin issue against Bournemouth, and Anthony Gordon is another absence with a similar problem. Joelinton is suspended for the game but talisman Bruno Guimaraes is likely to make his return to the starting lineup in a major boost to the Magpies.

Arsenal XI: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Odegaard, Zubimendi, Rice; Madueke, Havertz, Eze
