A section of our more pessimistic supporters have suggested that a few of us are guilty of overreacting to our recent 4-0 thumping of Falkirk at Celtic Park.
Yes they may indeed have a point, as we’ve already easily disposed of John McGlynn’s side earlier in the Premier Sports Cup, but it wasn’t so much the scoreline that impressed us, it was the attitude of the players, and the way they stood up to the pressure, fighting for every ball, and each other, whilst playing a more direct type of football than we’ve been used to in recent months.

The whole dynamic of the side had changed, and if you hadn’t noticed that you just don’t understand football.
The usual nervousness and negativity we’ve been witnessing all too recently was non existent, and it showed that Martin O’Neill still possesses that superb man management ability that he was famed for. Even just a short time with the players was enough for him to get his message through, and not forgetting Shaun Maloney who would have undoubtedly have had some important tactical input too.

When it comes to Celtic , I’m a glass half full kinda guy, so I urge any doubters to join me in taking the positives and look ahead with some real optimism to a better style of football, that’s more pleasing on the eye and is I am sure going to deliver good results.
This year theRangers started to figure out a way to play against Brendan’s possession based system and as a result we’ve not been able to beat them on 2025. Under Martin O’Neill their tactical approach will be less effective, judging by the way Celtic played on Wednesday night. The team will have had more sessions with the new managerial team and there’s one thing you can rely on rom Martin O’Neill – he can inspire any dressing room ahead of a big match.

We’ll see on Sunday if this all makes sense or is just wishful thinking on my part. I pray that I’m reading this one correctly. We are due a Beautiful Sunday.
