FC Bayern has successfully completed its next transfer this summer. Alexander Nübel is leaving the German record champions to join Besiktas Istanbul.

After initial reports of an impending move surfaced on Monday, the transfer is now officially finalized. As Sky reports, FC Bayern, Besiktas Istanbul, and Alexander Nübel have reached a full agreement.

This brings the 29-year-old’s chapter with the German record champions to a close after just under four years.

Bayern will receive up to 11.5 million euros

According to Sky, FC Bayern will initially receive a fixed transfer fee of 6.5 million euros. With bonus payments, the total package could rise to as much as 11.5 million euros.

Following the mandatory medical exam, Nübel will sign a contract with Besiktas running through the summer of 2029.

No future in Munich

On the field, Nübel had recently ceased to play a role in Munich’s plans. Manuel Neuer will remain Bayern’s starting goalkeeper through the 2026–27 season, while Jonas Urbig is set to be gradually groomed as his successor. With Sven Ulreich, the Munich club also has another experienced goalkeeper at its disposal.

For Nübel, the move offers the chance for regular playing time. At the historic Turkish club, the German national team goalkeeper is set to become the new number one.

For FC Bayern, the transfer is also another step toward streamlining the roster and reducing salary costs.
