Ousmane Dembélé has started the 2024-25 season in outstanding form, with three goals and two assists in just four Ligue 1 games. However, one pundit isn’t buying into the former FC Barcelona standout’s recent performance.

The 27-year-old winger is clearly finding his rhythm, and his performance has taken off in his second season in Paris after he moved from Catalonia last year.

If PSG were to succeed without Kylian Mbappé, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner needed to elevate his game. With the forward line at the French club being relatively young, Dembélé stands out as one of the more experienced players, though he’s still under 30.

Even though Dembélé is one of PSG’s top players so far this season, RMC Sport pundit Denis Charvet isn’t buying into the forward’s new form.

“I don’t really believe in Dembélé anymore,” Charvet said on the Super Moscato Show (h/t Le10Sport). “At 27, when you don’t have individual technique, you can’t acquire it overnight. He tries, but just because he’s trying doesn’t mean he’ll succeed.

“Ousmane Dembélé frustrates me, it’s a waste. He shouldn’t be scoring 15 goals, but 20-25 in a season. Sometimes you see him lose 15 balls during matches. I feel unsatisfied. He has talent, but I don’t believe in him too much.”

The winger’s standout performances this season have grabbed Manchester United’s attention. Though the Premier League side is in the market for a right-winger, it’s unlikely the Frenchman will leave Paris, especially considering his strong form under Enrique.
