Liverpool manager Arne Slot has highlighted the evolving role of Mohamed Salah emphasizing that the Egyptian star’s contribution this season goes far beyond scoring goals.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s Premier League showdown with Manchester City, Slot praised Salah’s growing influence on both sides of the pitch particularly his defensive discipline & leadership during turbulent campaign for the defending champions.

"I’ve noticed it as well, He’s been helping the team a lot. Everyone talks about the players who score and yes, it’s very important for Mo to find the net. But what’s equally important is how much he’s giving us in terms of work rate and defensive contribution" Slot told Liverpool Echo.

Salah who has been directly involved in more than dozen goals across competitions this season earned special praise for his performance in Liverpool’s recent 1-0 win over Real Madrid, a match decided by Alexis Mac Allister’s goal.
