Ivan Juric is determined that Southampton will compete end to end with other Premier League relegation candidates.
Throughout the Premier League's rich history, there are a few games that go down as absolute classics of their era. Some matches are goal-fests, some see a downpour of cards and the others are notoriously remembered for their entire build up drama.
Currently, Southampton isn't suited to providing the first and their squad is a well-mannered bunch which dismisses possibilities of the second option.
Regretfully, Southampton fans have had to wait long enough for an all-timer evening. Coming to the bright part, that dull countdown is over for the better.
After all, Southampton are deemed as an equal winning contender in a long while. Now, Ivan Juric has taken the balanced fixture narrative to a whole different level.
While analysing the game at hand, Juric hinted that the Saints can even get the better of their opponents.
Talking to the Daily Echo, Juric spoke about Wolves' Premier League safety: "After this match, I think they will be a little less safe than before."
Agreed, these words sound more surprising rather than confident. The reason being that Southampton are much more vulnerable to a Championship demotion rather than their counterparts.
Factor in Wolves remaining hurdles and it seems crystal clear that they will reach the finish line without much hiccups. Hence, Juric's comments indicate more about Southampton's resurgence rather than them mounting a relegation contest.
Either way, the home fans have got enough faith to back the players again in the hope of a victory. Whether their wishes turn true remains to be seen.
Lastly, let's hope that Juric's opinion doesn't serve to motivate Wolves to seek a dominating win.
