Africa Cup of Nations action continued with a heavyweight showdown between Ivory Coast and Cameroon Sunday night’s offering from Group F. Both sides won their opening game of the tournament on Wednesday, meaning this fixture at the Marrakesh Stadium was billed as having a big say as to who would qualify for the round of 16 as group winners.

Les Elephants, the defending AFCON champions after emerging victorious on home soil two years ago to secure their third title overall, took the lead early in the second half thanks to a superb curling striker Manchester United’s Amad Diallo who netted his second goal in as many games at the tournament in Morocco.

However, the lead did not last long. Five minutes to be exact as Junior Tchamadeu’s equalised with a deflected effort - since credited as a Ghislain Konan own goal - to ensure the points were shared as both sides move on to four points ahead of their final group phase fixtures next week.
