Former Sunderland defender Jack Baldwin has signed for Hornchurch following his departure from Colchester United. The 32-year-old centre-back moves to the Urchins ahead of the new season.
Hornchurch manager Daryl McMahon said Baldwin is a leader, strong organiser and competitor who can lift standards on and off the pitch. He added the defender is hungry to play and help the team improve.
Baldwin brings significant EFL experience, having made more than 280 league appearances, and has also played for Hartlepool United, Peterborough United, Bristol Rovers, Ross County and Northampton Town.
He joined Sunderland from Peterborough United in summer 2018 on a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee after the Black Cats’ relegation to League One. He made 42 appearances and scored 3 goals, his first in a 2-1 win over Bradford City in October 2018.
He left Sunderland in summer 2020, ending his two-year spell on Wearside.
