Nicolas Jackson’s loan stint with FC Bayern has come to an end—what happens next remains to be seen. A new rumor is now circulating from Italy that surprisingly links the forward to a swap deal.
Jackson is currently playing for Senegal at the World Cup. There, the 24-year-old has the chance to showcase his talents—and he could certainly use that opportunity. After all, his athletic future is anything but clear following the end of his loan stint in Munich.
For the German record champions, the Jackson chapter is over for now. The forward was only on loan and must first return to his parent club, Chelsea FC. Whether he’ll play a long-term role there under new coach Xabi Alonso, however, is considered questionable. Jackson certainly made his mark in Munich: He scored eight goals in 23 Bundesliga matches.
As reported by *Gazzetta dello Sport*, Chelsea is now actively offering the striker to Juventus. This comes as a surprise: Previously, it had been reported that Alonso wanted to give the Senegalese player a chance with the Blues. Now, however, there has been a reversal.
The reason behind this move is reportedly Chelsea’s interest in Andrea Cambiaso. The left back made 47 appearances last season and was directly involved in eight goals. The London club is said to have already offered around 28 million euros—but Juventus is demanding 40 million. Since that’s too much for the Blues, Jackson is now reportedly being brought into the picture as part of a swap deal.
The plan is unlikely to be straightforward for Chelsea. According to the report, FC Barcelona is also trying to sign Cambiaso—curiously, also via a swap deal. The Catalans wanted to sweeten the deal for the Italian by including Ronald Araujo, but Juventus has apparently already rejected that offer.

For both interested clubs, one thing is clear: The Bianconeri don’t really want to budge from their asking price of 40 million euros. For Jackson, that means waiting it out for now. At the World Cup, following the opening-match loss to France, he’ll still face Norway and Iraq—opportunities to prove himself to a new club.
