Besiktas have reportedly come up with a new clever plan to help them win the race for Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho.

Sancho unwilling to lower his wage demands

Sancho does not have a future at Old Trafford, with United pushing hard to offload him before the close of the summer transfer window.

There has been some interest in the England international since Chelsea opted out of the loan obligation to sign him permanently, after he spent the entire 2024/25 campaign with the Blues. Sancho has been linked to the likes of Juventus, Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Borussia Dortmund. However, a transfer has failed to get over the line due to his hefty salary demands.

So far, Sancho is refusing to compromise on his current wages, which are believed to be well worth over £275,000-a-week.  It’s for this reason that Napoli pulled out of the race for his services.

AS Roma recently lodged a £20m bid for the player – a sum that United were prepared to accept.

However, Sancho turned down the Serie A giants. A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Englishman also rebuffed advances from Besiktas as he has no interest in sealing a switch to the Turkish Super Lig.

But, Roma have not totally given up on the 25-year-old and are poised to launch another attempt to snap him up.

It appears Besiktas are also not ready to walk away, with a new report claiming that they have devised a clever ploy that could see them eventually gain the upper hand for the United man.

Besiktas’ clever plan to sign Sancho

According to Sporx [via SportWitness], Besiktas have turned their attention to Sancho after missing out on Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Gonçalo Guedes.

Besiktas intend to play the waiting game for Sancho, aware that most European transfer windows remain open until September 1.

The Black Eagles will then have a clear path to Sancho, given that Turkish sides have an extra 12 days to wrap up their transfer business.

The hope is that Besiktas will naturally stand out as Sancho’s best destination. The concern for INEOS and United is that they wouldn’t be able to reinvest that money in new signings.
