José Mourinho has approved a move for Manchester United winger Jadon Sancho as Fenerbahçe prepare for a pivotal summer transfer window.
The Turkish club have already opened talks with United over a potential deal, according to transfer journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.
Sancho is under contract at Old Trafford until June 2026 but is not said to be part of new manager Ruben Amorim’s plans.
Despite multiple opportunities at United, Sancho has struggled to adapt to the physical demands of the Premier League.
His technical quality and creative ability remain evident, but his style of play has looked more effective abroad than in England.
The 25 year old spent the second half of last season on loan at Chelsea, helping them win the UEFA Conference League.
Mourinho is seeking experienced reinforcements and sees Sancho as a player who can add star quality to his attacking options.
Alternatively, Sancho may opt to wait for offers from one of Europe’s top five leagues.
There have previously been reports of interest from Serie A clubs—Italy being a league that might better suit his style of play.
But with Amorim looking to reshape the United squad, time may not be on Sancho’s side.
If no European alternative emerges soon, Fenerbahçe could represent both an escape route and an opportunity for revival.
A move to Turkey would offer Sancho regular minutes and a fresh start after a turbulent period in England.
Should the deal progress, it would mark one of the most high-profile transfers of the Turkish summer window.
