Jamaal Lascelles joins Leicester until end of season as Divine Mukasa and Dujuan Richards arrive on loan | OneFootball

Leicester City have signed Jamaal Lascelles from Newcastle United on a contract until the end of the season. The 32-year-old leaves after nearly 12 years at St James' Park.

BBC UK reports that he made 253 appearances for Newcastle and captained the side for much of his time there. He has played only twice since March 2024 after a serious knee injury that kept him out for the rest of last season. His last appearance came as a substitute in September's 2-1 defeat by Arsenal.

Leicester have also secured Manchester City midfielder Divine Mukasa, 18, and Chelsea forward Dujuan Richards, 20, on loan for the remainder of the campaign. Mukasa debuted for Pep Guardiola's side this season and has six appearances in all competitions.

Richards is yet to feature for Chelsea's first team, but is a Jamaica international with two goals from 14 caps. The Foxes moved on transfer deadline day on Monday, but paperwork delays meant the deals were confirmed a day later. Leicester are managerless and in the bottom half of the second-tier table.

Lascelles last played in the Championship in 2016-17 when he helped Newcastle win promotion. He came through at Nottingham Forest, making his professional debut in 2012 for Leicester's East Midlands rivals. He said he is excited to get started and keen to help push the team up the table.
