MIAMI — Jamaica will continue its qualification hopes for the FIFA World Cup 2026 when it takes on New Caledonia in the Semi-final of Path A in the FIFA World Cup 2026 Play-Off Tournament on Thursday at Guadalajara Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico. 

The Reggae Boyz delivered a strong effort to obtain the direct qualification by finishing second place in Group B during the Final Round of Concacaf Qualifiers to the 2026 FIFA World Cup

During the Concacaf Qualifiers, Jamaica tied for sixth with 19 goals scored. Renaldo Cephas ranked third among players in the Qualifiers with four assists and co-led the team with two goals in the Final Round. Richard King placed fourth in the Qualifiers with 505 passes.

Joining Cephas and King among the call-ups for the upcoming matches, are the likes of Andre Blake, Leon Bailey, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, and Demarai Gray.

Jamaica is seeking to secure its second FIFA World Cup participation and needs only two more victories to accomplish it. Drawn into Pathway 1, Jamaica meets New Caledonia for the chance to play Congo DR on Tuesday and book a place in the field of 48 teams that will participate in football’s worldwide showcase this summer.
