Jamal Musiala remains one of the most highly-touted talents anywhere in world football, but his inclusion in Julian Nagelsmann's XI remains under scrutiny.
There was no better way for the Bayern Munich ace to put one in the win column over his recent detractors with a well-placed finish to give Germany a 4-1 lead just after the restart.
His return to fitness, and subsequent backing from Nagelsmann, will no doubt be a key talking point for Die Mannschaft. If he's on, Germany have every chance to go far, but for now, his hit against Dick Advocaat's side is more about gravitas than anything else.
Stroking home from inside the box beyond veteran Curaçao shot-stopper Eloy Room, Musiala's 10th goal for his country was also the 80th goal scored by a Bayern player at the World Cup; more than any other side in tournament history.
It was a huge moment for Musiala on personal terms, and a reminder of how influential Bayern - and Germany - have been on the beautiful game.
