Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder turned talkSPORT pundit Jamie O’Hara believes the club should do everything possible to bring Marcus Rashford to north London.
He insists the Manchester United forward could ‘be a star player’ for Tottenham if they can pull it off.
Rashford’s future is one of the biggest talking points of the summer transfer window after his loan spell with Barcelona came to an end.
The England international impressed during the 2025/26 campaign, scoring 14 goals and providing 14 assists in 49 appearances across all competitions.
Despite those impressive numbers, the Spanish champions chose not to activate the £26 million option to sign him permanently.
That decision has left Rashford’s future up in the air. With his long-term future at United appearing increasingly uncertain, it’s anyone’s guess where he’ll end up this summer.
The 28-year-old has not played for the Red Devils since December 2024 after spending the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Aston Villa before making the temporary switch to Barcelona.
While Rashford still has two years remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, United are widely expected to listen to offers if a suitable bid arrives.
O’Hara believes Tottenham should seize the opportunity and make a serious attempt to sign the winger.
“I would love nothing more than for us [Spurs] to break the bank with wages and get him over the line,” O’Hara said on talkSPORT.
“It ain’t going to cost you loads of money – what, £30m, probably?
“You’re going to get him for nothing because they [Man United] need him off the wage bill. They don’t want him there, his future at Manchester United is gone, right?
“The only reason he’d be integrated back into the team is if they can’t get rid of him.
“If they can come to some sort of deal and get Marcus Rashford at Tottenham, he would be a star player for us. He is still top drawer.”
Rashford is currently on international duty with England at the World Cup.
He made his first start of the tournament on Saturday, playing the full 90 minutes as Thomas Tuchel’s side secured a 2-0 victory over Panama to finish top of Group L and book their place in the Round of 32.
