Jan Bednarek and Martim Fernandes available for V. Guimarães trip

FC Porto have been handed a boost after the clássico win, with Jan Bednarek and Martim Fernandes available for Sunday’s trip to V. Guimarães, according to O Jogo.

Bednarek, who scored Porto’s goal against Benfica, was substituted with discomfort in the back of his right thigh. He received ice and strapping on the bench, and a subsequent assessment confirmed there was no muscle injury.

Martim suffered a fractured nose in the sixth minute and played on until shortly after the 70th minute. He was chiefly troubled by heavy bleeding, particularly in the first half.

The under-21 international full-back remains in the frame for the fixture that opens the league’s second round.

His status will be reviewed in the coming days to see whether he can use facial protection.
