Jardim on FC Porto’s Daniel Sales interest: “Loan and see… Flamengo won’t”

Leonardo Jardim spoke about FC Porto’s interest in Daniel Sales, Flamengo’s young right-back. After the Brazilians’ 2-1 win over Benfica this Saturday, in a friendly played in the Algarve, the Madeira-born coach, who manages Mengão, suggested that the Dragons’ intention is to take the player on loan.

“We have an academy with many players attracting interest, not just Sales. But the interest is in loaning him and watching the player, and Flamengo does not want that. If it happens, we want something in return,” said the Flamengo coach, also leaving the decision in the hands of those in charge of the club’s structure, particularly sporting director José Boto: “It’s a matter that is with José Boto and our president.”
