Jashiri admits happiness that Okafor plays for ‘great team’ Milan: “It’s a dream” | OneFootball

AC Milan play against Club Brugge in the Champions League tomorrow, and Ardon Jashiri spoke about his Swiss teammate Noah Okafor ahead of the clash, whilst also looking ahead to the fixture.

Since joining Milan, Okafor’s chances have been infrequent, more so since Paulo Fonseca joined the Rossoneri in the summer. Against Udinese, the Portuguese head coach gave the winger a chance to impress and he certainly did that.

Throughout the early stages of the game, the Diavolo looked to the winger to provide a threat to the opposition defence, and Okafor grew in confidence as the game progressed. When Milan went down to 10 men, he continued to impress due to his grit and team spirit.

Whilst Rafael Leao is likely to come back into the side for the clash, Jashiri – a fellow Swissman – spoke to the press about his pride for his compatriot, and his words have been relayed by Milan News.

“It’s a dream come true for me. Everyone dreams of playing here, against a great team. I will be ready for tomorrow. I hope to have a chance tomorrow to show my qualities.”

How do you feel about tomorrow?

“We had a great game against Dortmund, with lots of chances even to win the game, but then the result was not good. We showed our great quality.”

You are Swiss: what do you think of your compatriot Okafor?

“He’s a great player, I played with him in Switzerland and I’m really happy that he plays for a great team.”

Is there a Milan player you particularly like?

“There are many strong players, but tomorrow we’ll just think about us.”
