Jimenez joins Fiorentina on loan from Bournemouth after suspension over messages | OneFootball

Alex Jimenez is officially a Fiorentina player, joining on loan from Bournemouth with an option to buy, his move coming after a suspension over inappropriate messages.

According to the Telegraph, he is currently suspended by the Football Association in England while it investigates claims he direct messaged a 15-year-old girl on social media. The allegations surfaced in May and he was dropped from the Bournemouth squad.

It is widely believed the package totals €20m plus a 30 per cent sell-on if the option is exercised at the end of the season. The option reportedly includes clauses that could turn it into an obligation, including if he reaches 30 appearances.

Fiorentina have not yet formally announced the signature, but his contract has been lodged with Lega Serie A and he took part in day one of pre-season. The deal was completed last week and he underwent medical tests in Florence.

The 21-year-old already knows Serie A, having been at Milan from 2023 until his move to Bournemouth in September 2025. That switch was a loan with an obligation to buy for a total of €20m.
