FC Barcelona are expecting Joao Cancelo to arrive in Spain tomorrow, Friday, to undergo his medical examination before signing for the club on loan from Al Hilal, reports Mundo Deportivo.
Barça sporting director Deco made it clear on Wednesday, ahead of the match against Athletic Club, that the loan deal was being finalised and indicated that the player would arrive in Barcelona shortly.
Now, according to the report, Cancelo’s medical examination has been scheduled by Barcelona for tomorrow.
If there are no last-minute changes, Friday could be a key day for the Portuguese right-back if he successfully passes the medical tests, which are usually carried out at the Hospital de Barcelona, and if the club then decide to make his arrival official.

Until now, Barcelona had chosen not to announce the move in order not to interfere with preparations for the Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Athletic Club.
But the agreement between Barcelona and Al Hilal is complete, and the Catalan club also have everything agreed with Jorge Mendes, the player’s agent.
After completing the medical examination, Cancelo will also have time to look for a home for himself and his family. One positive factor is that he already knows the city and its surroundings, following his loan spell during the 2023-24 season.
Once Cancelo’s signing is made official, it will still need to be decided when his presentation will take place.
After all, Hansi Flick’s squad and the senior members of the board, led by president Joan Laporta, will not return from Saudi Arabia until next Monday, following the Super Cup final scheduled for Sunday night.
