Hull City's interest in Leeds United striker Joe Gelhardt remains intact, with a permanent move to the MKM Stadium under consideration in the weeks ahead. A deal is unlikely early in the window and, as things stand, the forward is expected to begin pre-season with Leeds this month.
"It's a good question, isn't it? Let's see what happens over the summer, but it's pretty clear what I want to do," he told Hull Live.
The 24-year-old Liverpudlian delivered 15 goals and six assists in 44 appearances last season, finishing as City's second-top scorer behind Oli McBurnie.
He has one year left on his Elland Road contract and is not expected to feature in Daniel Farke's plans. Other clubs are monitoring him, though a permanent switch to the MKM Stadium remains a priority target.
Since arriving in January 2025, Gelhardt has made 64 appearances in black and amber, scoring 20 times and adding six assists, cementing his popularity with supporters. A two-month absence checked his momentum, but he returned to help City clinch promotion to the Premier League.
His earlier half-season loan in 2024/25 brought five crucial goals as Hull avoided relegation to League One on the final day.
