Leeds United look to be benefiting from Joe Rodon’s continued prominence with Wales, as his international work feeds into club form. According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, the centre-back has become integral for both sides.

Rodon joined on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, then made the move permanent in 2024. He has 128 appearances, helped promotion last season, and has played 91% of Leeds’ Premier League minutes this campaign.

He does not wear the armband, yet he is viewed as a leader under Daniel Farke. For Wales he has 58 caps, playing at a European Championship and a World Cup. He debuted in 2019 at 21 alongside Gareth Bale, Neil Taylor and Wayne Hennessey in a Euro 2020 qualifier.

Rodon says he has always been vocal on the pitch. He learned from an older group on arrival, and now his cohort are becoming the older ones, something that has come quickly.

He is energised by head coach Craig Bellamy, a 78-cap former forward who played for Manchester City, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Cardiff City and Celtic. Rodon says Bellamy’s staff have improved him and he enjoys every session.

Rodon will be in action on Thursday night when Wales host Bosnia and Herzegovina in a World Cup qualifying play-off in Cardiff.
