Bild reports that Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonas Hofmann will look to leave the club in the summer as he is in search of more playing time.
Since moving to Leverkusen in 2023, Hofmann has mainly played a bit part role in the team. His time at the club started off hotly when he was a starter in the first half of their domestic double-winning season, but injuries and a lack of form have hampered him since.
The 32-year-old wants more playing time, which is something that Leverkusen are unable to offer, and is already looking for a new club along with his agent. Whether the midfielder will look to stay in Germany or more abroad is yet to be seen.
A Hofmann departure would open the door for Leverkusen to bring in a younger player who plays in a similar position, who could play alongside and eventually replace Florian Wirtz next season.
