Jeremy Monga completed his move to Manchester City on Saturday, then posted an emotional farewell to Leicester City that drew replies from Jordan James and team-mates.

According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the Foxes will receive an initial £10 million, rising to £12.5 million, with a sell-on clause. The 17-year-old has signed a five-year contract and will join Enzo Maresca’s first-team for pre-season.

City beat Arsenal to the signing, after the Gunners held talks earlier in the summer. In his Instagram post, Monga thanked Leicester for believing in him, said goodbye to a club he had called home for nearly 10 years, and wished the fans and team success.

Former loanee Jordan James, who played alongside Monga last season, sent his best wishes. Midfielder Sammy Brabrook and Jake Evand also offered good luck messages, while first-team coach Andy King and the club’s official account added their support.

Monga made his Premier League debut for Leicester in 2024/25 at 15, becoming the division’s second-youngest player, now third after Arsenal’s Max Dowman. He featured regularly in the Championship last season and became the league’s youngest scorer with a goal against Preston North End in August. In total, he made 37 first-team appearances, scoring once and supplying two assists.
