Leicester City face an anxious wait on Jordan James, the club hoping his issue is not serious. He appeared to hurt his Achilles during Wales’ defeat to Bosnia-Herzegovina and will miss Tuesday night’s meeting with Northern Ireland.
Wales boss Craig Bellamy said James was injured during the game, tried to carry on but the pain was too much, and he has gone back to Leicester for further medical assessment.
The Rennes loanee battled through the first half before limping off around the hour mark.
With the club’s Championship future on the line, City’s hopes of survival will be dented if their leading scorer is unavailable for the run-in.
James has only just returned from a hamstring injury that kept him out for more than a month. Since coming back he has a goal and an assist in his three starts, and Gary Rowett will offer a fuller update at Wednesday’s press conference.
