Jorge Jesus is racing to have João Félix fit for Al Nassr’s meeting with Al Ahli Doha on Wednesday, 22 April. According to Glorioso 1904, the 71-year-old former Benfica coach still does not know if he can call on the Portuguese forward.
Félix has not trained since the Asia’s Champions 2 quarter-final and remains a doubt as Jesus plans another important assignment with Al Nassr.
The Portugal international is dealing with a right thigh muscle problem that has restricted his training. Further medical tests are scheduled for Wednesday to determine whether he can face the Qatari side.
Al Nassr’s run in the continent’s second-tier competition has been impressive. To reach the semi-finals they swept aside Al Wasl 4-0, with a Cristiano Ronaldo goal and two Félix assists.
This season for Al Nassr, Félix has played 40 official matches, 28 in the Saudi league, eight in Asia’s Champions 2, two in the Saudi Cup and two in the Super Cup. Across 3,164 minutes he has 22 goals and 16 assists, and is valued at 25 million euros.
