Jorge Sampaoli ‘files’ CNRD claim against Atlético-MG over R$ 10 million | OneFootball

Atlético-MG’s off-field turmoil has deepened, with former Flamengo coach Jorge Sampaoli launching proceedings over an unpaid contract settlement.

According to GE, Sampaoli has filed a claim with the CNRD, the CBF’s dispute chamber, seeking R$ 10 million due under his termination clause after the deal ended in February.

The parties had agreed the R$ 10 million would be paid in 15 instalments of R$ 666.6 thousand, but only one was settled, prompting the action.

Sampaoli’s Atlético-MG tenure was brief, spanning 33 matches, with 10 wins, nine defeats and 14 draws. He departed after a 3-3 draw with Remo in February.

His spell at Flamengo also ended without silverware, returning 20 wins, 11 draws and eight defeats. He exited after an early Libertadores elimination and losing the Copa do Brasil title.
