According to Superdeporte, José Copete has posted a cryptic update about his injury after Valencia’s season ended, hinting his return could take longer than first expected.

The messages followed the match against Barcelona and confirmation that Valencia will miss Europe. Players and staff took to social media, with Hugo Duro setting next season’s target of returning to European competition and Copete reflecting on his year on X.

The centre-back praised Mestalla and described a gruelling campaign. He said he would speak about the circumstances around his injury in due course and would keep working. His season ended early with a meniscal injury in his left knee.

Copete also assessed the team’s efforts, noting they finished with a strong win for the fans after a difficult year in which the group suffered but did not give up. He said there is significant room for improvement and that the club’s demands require the best version of everyone, individually and collectively.

On a personal level, he called it a testing season of learning, setbacks and growth, marked by silent work and some very hard days.
