José Mourinho hails ‘different’ Real Madrid star after UCL clash | OneFootball

Benfica head coach José Mourinho has moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé.

This of course comes fresh off the meeting between Benfica and Real on Wednesday.

Los Blancos are fresh off a damaging defeat on the continent yesterday evening.

After making the trip to Lisbon to close out their league phase campaign in the Champions League, the Spanish heavyweights were condemned to the wrong side of a 4-2 result.

One of the few members of Álvaro Arbeloa’s squad who could hold his head high post-match was the aforementioned Kylian Mbappé, who was responsible for netting both of Real’s goals in Portugal.

Speaking to the media in the game’s aftermath, José Mourinho, in turn, was quick to praise his former club’s ‘difference’ maker:

“It was an amazing performance (from us). I think it was Mbappé who kept the game level. Two chances, two goals. Finish. This is why these players cost so much and earn so much, because they are different.”
