Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee appears to be hurtling toward the exit door at Old Trafford.
Having played just 90 minutes across all competitions this season, it’s clear that the Dutch forward is not favoured by manager Ruben Amorim.
As relayed by The Peoples Person, it appears that Man United’s stance on Zirkzee has changed. While Amorim was initially believed to be looking to keep him at the club, it now seems that the club could sanction a January loan for the player.
This would be welcome news for Zirkzee, whose frustration at United is believed to be escalating significantly as he sits far down the pecking order.
It seems that multiple clubs are preparing to jump at the opportunity to sign Zirkzee, with bids in January seemingly imminent.
The battle for Zirkzee
Revered in Italy for his impactful tenure at Bologna, it seems that clubs in Spain have also taken notice of his potential, with Real Betis and Sevilla both reportedly seeking a loan deal for the player.
There also seems to be interest within the Premier League, with West Ham United seemingly interested in both Zirkzee and his teammate Kobbie Mainoo.
Now, it seems as if some competition for his signature could be surfacing from Serie A as well, with nostalgia for his Bologna days clearly still in the air.
AC Milan back in the race
AC Milan seem to have revived their interest in Zirkzee despite previously being turned down by the Dutch forward.
Gazzetta dello Sport reported that AC Milan are considering a move for Zirkzee as they seek to bolster their front line.
This move could make sense for Zirkzee, particularly with the World Cup coming up next summer.
While the possibility of getting more game time under Amorim cannot be definitively ruled out, lacking time on the pitch would not bode well for Zirkzee’s World Cup hopes.
